Steel latticed towers are special and important structures in structural engineering. Free-standing latticed communication towers are designed and constructed with different geometries, in view of cross and longitudinal section shapes, and topology. In this paper, many well-known codes of practice, which are used for the design of telecommunication towers in Iran, are investigated and compared with each other. 84 free standing telecommunication towers with cross bracing and square and triangle cross sections, with three different heights of 30, 81 and 121 meters, are analyzed and designed, using the SAP2000
